Una semana de la familia magnífico! This week we were very busy with activties for the week of the Family! I think it was in al of Centroamerica, but it including many great missionary opportunities with the members. A great experience was our family night on monday.
We made oreo balls for family night! Yum!
The members had invited on of their neighbors to come, but we waited for 30 mins and they never showed up, so the right then invited another neighbor family who came right up! Also, on Friday we had a Cultural Night with many investigators that was very joyous, with my dances culturals from here Guatemala. We have also been very busy Multizone conferences. The Lord continues to bless us greatly and to guide us in this wonderful work and wonder!
Mejor Milagro:
One day as my companion and I were walking home after the last appointment of the night, we saw a family walking. Even though we could have easily kept walking home, we took a second to go and talk to this family (as to we have put the goal to talk with every family we find in the street.) They had just moved here that same day from a place called Momostenango, a very poor place and they had very little, not even a place to live. When we offered to share the gospel with them, they gladly accepted, but there were two problems 1. They did not even have a phone, and 2. They had no place where they were living. So, they told us where they were thinking of living, and we promised to come look for them the next day. Fast forward, and the next day it just so happened that we found them AGAIN in the walking in the street (we were not even looking for them). They still had not found a place to life, and where they planned was not available, so they told us of a place where some family members lived. Fast forward to the next day, and by miracle (no way by chance) we found them AGAIN walking in the street (Every time we found them it was in a different place)! This time, they told us that they had found a house, and we were able to get the assurity of finding them. Today we have an appointment to visit them. I know that it was not chance that we just so happened to find the same family 3 times in 3 days in the street. I am grateful that the Lord prepares his children, and to be an instrument in his hands to be able to help his children find true happiness in a life that is not intended to be easy.
Testimony Time:
The title comes from 1 Nefi 18:2 which says,
2 Now I, Nephi, did not work the timbers after the manner which was learned by men, neither did I build the ship after the manner of men; but I did build it after the manner which the Lord had shown unto me; wherefore, it was not after the manner of men.
As I have continued to read the life and experiences of Nefi, I am so impressed by the obedience and trust that Nefi has in the Lord. With the process of building the boat to take them to America, he has complete faith in the Lord that he could do whatever the Lord needed. Not just that, but he worked to do what the Lord needed, EXACTLY how he needed it done. He says in verse 3 how he did "did go into the mount oft, and I did pray oft unto the Lord." The key to his power to do whatever the Lord needed was first, his willingness to seek the Lord and his help in all things, and second his obedience and willingness to do whatever the Lord asked and how the Lord asked. For his diligence, he received many blessing, one of which was the result of his work that his boat was of "the workmanship...exceedingly fine" He teached us and shows that to obtain the best results in all things, we have to do them in the manner of the Lord. We have to trust in him and seek his council. Obedience to the Lord is so key in all we do, and I am completely sure that it is very essential to be able to receive the greatest blessings of the Lord. If we are not able to be obedient, we will never to able to do or become what the Lord wants. But, how wonderful it is to have the examples of ancient prophets to help us chose the right in every moment, and come to obtain what is most precious, even eternal life.
