June 1, 2015 email "They are the heirs of the kingdom of God"

Tortillas: 20!!!!!

Today was a very special week, the baptism of Familia Lopez!

It is always such a special experience to see anyone enter into the waters of baptism, and even more special when you get to baptise! Also, I had the first opportunity to give someone the gift of the holy ghost. It was a very special weekend and the spirit was strong all throughout.

This week was also a really special week because many of our prayers were answered, and we had many investigators receive the answers to their prayers that the Book of Mormon is true! We are so blessed because right now we have the opportunity to teach many "Golden" investigators, that by the grace of God we have been blessed with! I know that as we endure, the blessings of God always come! Sometimes he waits to shower them down to test our faith, but if we continue along, they will always come. As we follow him, do what he asks, and change for him, he will change us. We must always remember the importance of setting goals, and we will see our progress grow and grow!

Mejor Milagro:

So, one night we had an appoinment fall, so we decided to start contacting. As we knocked the first door, they were not there, but there was a car behind us. At first we did not notice that there were people inside, but when I noticed I began to talk to them. We only had about 2 minuetes to talk because they had to leave, but we were able to get their names and where they so so lived. So, a couple of days later, we decided to contact and try and find them. As we were contacting, we met a very nice woman who invited us in and asked us to share with her, which is very rare here. She allowed us to share a small message with her and her daughter, but because her husband was not there we asked to come back and share this message very important for families. So, on Sunday we returned, and as we approached the door we noticed parked out front was the car that we had talked to earlier this week! We then began to put everything together, and realized that the man we had met was the husband of this woman! The invited us in, and we spent the first little bit getting to know them, and realized that they are the perfect situation for someone to learn more about the gospel, the are willing! It was one of the most wonderful lessons I have had, and I felt the guidance of the spirit so strong in teaching what was specifically necessary for them! I know that everyday God leads us to his chosen children, and we just need to work to recognize them!

Testimony time:

This week a learned more about something very important, our salvation. First, to share two scriptures that I found this week.

Mosiah 16:5

But remember that he that persists in his own carnal nature, and goes on in the ways of sin and rebellion against God, remaineth in his fallen state and the devilhath all power over him. Therefore he is as though there was no redemption made, being an enemy to God; and also is the devil an enemy to God.

Mosiah 15:11

"Behold I say unto you, that whosoever has heard the words of the prophets, yea, all the holy prophets who have prophesied concerning the coming of the Lord—I say unto you, that all those who have hearkened unto their words, and believed that the Lord would redeem his people, and have looked forward to that day for a remission of their sins, I say unto you, that these are his seed, or they are the heirs of the kingdom of God."

How blessed we are that God speaks in our days to guide us safely home! He has sent his holy prophets so that we can know exactly what is his plan, and what he wants for us. They are a voice of warning, telling us what we must do to gain eternal life and happiness. There are consequences for following and not following their eternal council. In the first scripture, we learn of the consequences that come from sin.

When we sin, we chose to follow Satan before following God. As we continue in this state of sin, we are no longer considered friends of God, rather become enemies to his work. What does God do to his enemies? He smites them with his rath of eternal hell fire and destructions, and allows them to suffer for what they have done. In many times of old he has chosen to smite his enemies off the face of this earth with his mighty power. Is this what we want? Eternal damnation? I appologize for the firmness, but it is important that each of us understand the consequences.

Now, in the second scripture we learn the blessings that come from being a friend of God. Each and every one of us has the opportunity to receive a remission of our sins. The opportunity to remove the weight that comes when we disobey the Lord, and oh how sweet it is. The prophets have declared that all who chose can partake of the eternal love of our saviour, Jesus Christ! We have the opportunity to return to Gods kingdom, and live eternally with him in more happiness than we can imagine! We have the great opportunity to help him bring more unto his fold, and receive the same happiness! Oh how sweet and wonderful it is!

I know without a doubt that God loves each and every one of us. We must always remember the eternal consequences of our actions, and allow God to bless us with the greatest eternal blessing, to know him and his son Jesus Christ. I love my Saviour so much. He is my light, my king, my example, and my friend. He wants us to come unto him, no matter how far we have strayed. As we come unto him, we can recieve forgiveness from anything, and sing the song of redeeming joy! These things I share in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Fun P-Day lunch!
